LinkedIn Now Lets You Prove Your AI Skills With Real-Work Certificates

For years, LinkedIn profiles have relied heavily on self-declared skills. You could list Python, AI, or automation, and hope recruiters believed you. Now, LinkedIn is taking a step toward changing that dynamic by letting users prove what they can actually do.

LinkedIn has announced a new verified skills program that allows users to display official certifications for AI-related tools directly on their profiles. Instead of traditional exams or course completions, these certifications are based on real usage data from popular AI platforms.

To start with, LinkedIn has teamed up with Descript, Lovable, Replit, and Relay.app. These tools that many people already rely on for coding, creating content, and building AI agents in their day-to-day work.

The real win here is that there’s no exam to stress about. Users’ skills are judged simply by how they use the tools in real situations, like what they build, how they work, and the results they get along the way.

Once users meet the requirements, LinkedIn adds the certification directly to their profile alongside their other skills. While the company hasn’t detailed exactly how proficiency is measured, the emphasis is on real-world use and hands-on experience rather than textbook knowledge.
 
More integrations are already coming soon. LinkedIn plans to add partners like GitHub, Zapier, and Gamma over the next few months, and it’s opening the door for more companies to join the program.
