Amazon Launches Alexa+ Podcasts With AI-Generated Hosts!

Amazon has introduced Alexa Podcasts, a new Alexa+ feature that can generate custom podcast-style episodes on demand. The tool allows users to create AI-generated audio episodes on virtually any topic in just minutes, without needing to upload documents or prepare notes beforehand.
Users simply ask Alexa about a topic they want to explore, and the assistant gathers information, presents an overview of the planned episode, and lets users adjust the direction or length conversationally before generating the final recording.
The feature is powered by Alexa+ and uses information from several major publishers and news organizations. Amazon says it has partnered with Associated Press, Reuters, The Washington Post, TIME, Forbes, Business Insider, Politico, and USA Today, alongside publications from Condé Nast, Hearst, Vox, and more than 200 local newspapers across the U.S.
According to Amazon, “Questions have always been at the heart of how customers use Alexa.” The company added, “Now, what if you could turn any topic you're curious about into a podcast episode, ready in minutes? Today, we're making that possible with Alexa Podcasts, a new way to discover and learn, turning your curiosity into engaging audio content on demand.”
Once an episode is generated, users receive a notification through their Echo Show device or the Alexa app. The recordings use AI-generated host voices and can be replayed later through the Music and More section.

Amazon says Alexa Podcasts can cover everything from trending news and sports discussions to travel guides, educational explainers, hobbies, and professional learning topics. The company also hinted at future plans to expand into personalized news briefings and audio content built around user-provided documents and information.
Alexa Podcasts is currently available for Alexa+ customers in the U.S., with Alexa+ included free for Amazon Prime members.
